We have known Willie Revillame for being a famous host of noon time shows. He started with the three of them, namely: John Estrada, Randy Santiago, and Willie Revillame. The MTB or Magandang Tanghali Bayan started November 1998. It was the first issue of Willie, being a disrespectful one, together with the two. The next would be on Wowowee when there happened a stampede at the Ultra. Many died in the event, and obviously, Willie was to blame by the people. Next issue, Wowowee was alleged to be cheating, with their game show ‘Wilyonaryo’. A fight between Jobert and Willie caused the departure of the host from the network. There’s a deep story to that which was explained by Willie in the episode last April 8, 2011.
Willie found a new home at TV5. In that network, Willie established what is now the ‘Willing Willie’. He chose a host partner, Shalani Soledad. Each week, the show shows great improvement. It has come to this that the show acquired many sponsors, and fame to the public. This may be a big reason for the ‘co-family’ network to be in bitter state.
Yes, Willie triumphed in rising back to fame. Months have passed with the show giving ratings on the network. TV5 joined the competition, forming a triangle with the “co-heart” and the “co-family”. Unfortunately, a new problem rose because of the episode March 12, 2011 of Willing Willie.
Jan-Jan, a six year-old boy, was a contestant that day. His talent is dancing. What he danced was a macho dancing, with the music “The Next Episode” by Dr. Dre feat. Snoop Dogg. I admit, it was really funny, to think the kid cries while dancing the macho dancing. A single malice was never there to begin with. Willie joked around, intending to make the atmosphere more lively and fun. He made Jan-Jan danced again in again as the song was replayed again and again. It was not forceful. As the song plays, the kid dances with it. It’s like a robot running with what has been programmed to it. In the end, Jan-Jan made a small intermission before the commercial break. He was in the middle, a platform rising up while he was on it dancing with the music. The dancers and other staff joined the fun in the middle.
Now for my point of view. I don’t really think Willie did a bad thing about that. Was it a child abuse to grant what the child wants to do? In the first place, he has no idea that the kid will be dancing the macho dance. It was really unexpected. How come that’s exploitation? I’m not a fan of him, but I believe he does not deserved to be criticized with just a small issue. And it’s really connecting. With the OTHER network in bitterness, there are rumors that some are sending striking letters to sponsors, in order for them to pull out from the show. That’s so horrible! You can’t avoid to think who’s the culprit. What do you think?
Willie Revillame is changing. We know that. He intends to help the poor to amend for his sins.I can see he really wants to give hope to those who can’t recover from poverty. He gives smiles to those who can’t afford to move their mouth because of poverty. Out of all that, he wants the world to know what was the situation of our other countrymen. Was it bad to aim that goal? We can see that if we just don’t close our eyes. The OTHER network should not just think of only business, but concern too.
Try to watch the part of the episode with Jan-Jan on it, and then hear out what Willie has said on the last episode before the taping. He let it all out, and I understand why he should do it. I’ll be posting the videos below.
Anyway, please comment on what you think about the issue. Do you hate Willie, or not? All comments are respected, as long as you respect the post too. Please don’t use bad words. Be professional. 🙂
yeah., I agree.. since Willie had dirtied his name long before., marami na siyang naging haters.. it was sad na kahit nagbabago na sya., marami pa din haters..
neutral naman ako., kaso., whenever I think na maraming umaasa sya show nya coz., nagbibigay nga naman ng pagasa., it’s sad to think na yung ‘hope’ na yun gusto pa mawala ng., kung sino man dyan yung mga gumagawa ng paninira.. 🙂
I don’t like Willie.. kasi medyo mahangin sya. Minsan lang kasi, lumalabas ang yabang nya.. he thinks that he so indespensable. Yun lang ang kinaiinisan ko..
Anyway, about the child abuse thing.. actually noong una kong makita ang video, aaminin ko.. natawa pa ako. And I even applauded for Janjan. However, nung pinaulit-ulit na sa kanya.. I started to feel.. inis and galit. Especially when Willie said na he’s doing the macho-dancer thing dahil sa hirap ng buhay. Yes, that’s true nman kasi nangyayari yun sa society natin ngayon.. kapit patalim. Pero to say that on national tv.. and to a kid.. parang hindi yata tama.
I actually think that it’s the parents’ fault. They are parents. They should be the one telling the kid what should and what shoudn’t be.
Though I put the blame on the parents, I also see Willie’s fault. Kasi he has the power to stop it eh. The bad part sguro is that he made him do it over and over… Maybe because nasisiyahan ang audience? I honestly don’t know kung anong reason ni Willie.. But he should have done something at that moment.. and NOT to let the kid gyrate over and over and over…
Willie has many detractors. Andami nyang haters.. andami nyang kaaway. As a TV personality, public figure sya. Yung being very vigilant.. and very cautious about the things that he say or do. Pero.. like I said, he thinks he’s indispensable. Ayan tuloy.. suspendido sya ULIT.
Just my opnion, of course. Gandang hapon. 🙂

haha what a nice thing to say Leah., I agree… haha Willie has faults too., but to blame it all on him..parang di naman tama.. kasi may kasamang bitterness from channel 2 talaga eh..no offense..pero ganun ang lumabalas… to think na may nagsusulat pala sa mga sponsor abroad, to make them pull out from Willing Willie., parang., gosh., pwede naman maayos ito ng walang ganun.. right? so., I think they should not just the host., with matching cursing and all..
I really enjoy watching Willing Willie on the internet. The episode with dear Jan Jan has been blown out of proportion. It was taken advantage of the people and/or companies that were watching like cats waiting for a tiny hole to catch the fish. No matter how hard they try to put Willie down, there’s always the will of the greater people to bring him back up. Willie, please continue to be an instrument in making people share a little smile and big hope through your show. As long as your intention comes the big heart, the good always prevails. More power to you and wish you the best of health.
I admire your principles in life and the courage you have shown. Keep on making people happy and hopeful in life. My prayers for your continued and everlasting shows.
The government machinery is guilty of rushing to judgment and rushing to conclusion against Willie. Soliman and others have already concluded that Willie is guilty of (of all things) child abuse, when they have not even started an investigation. Where is due process? Nasa Martial Law ba tayo? And who could be behind all these efforts to put Willie down?
It’s a shame that the whole RP is all out on this little incident of Jan2 dancing, when there are thousands of unsolved murders, crimes and other pressing problems in the country.
@ryza well., it’s inevitable to blame others., coz why was he being like persecuted similar to a criminal when there are other unsolved crimes a hundred times heavier than this., actually., this matter is so simple., it’s just that there are dirty minds that put malice in this kind of issue.. 🙂
@novos yeah! quite right there.. haha i believe they were watching everyday…until they can find a smallest hole., so they can finally make their move to stop or interrupt the show., 🙂
@Michele yes! i just realized that too.,they can’t even do a thing about the Ampatuan., or the Webb issue., what the heck., have they caught Lacson already? not.. but when it comes to Willie., many branches of the government came to the scene..like the DSWD..CHR..MTRCB..etc., 🙂
madami kasi nakakita ng edited vids na medyo mangiyakngiyak yung bata while dancing. Not watching the full vid will make people jump into conclusion and give their own judgement.
@khanto yah! haha why is there an edited version? haha halatang may grudge haha!!
I’m confused why they single out janjan’s dancing in willing willie when in fact there’s a lot of tv programs in other tv networks showing unbecoming acts of children just to get the nods of the judges. For instance, the 8 year old girl who performed belly dancing during the audition of Pilipinas Got Talent Season2. The girl was wearing a bra, her entire tummy exposed, her face and hair fully made up to make her look older while she danced seductively to the music. She got “yes” vote from the 3 judges for this. Unfortunately, nobody tweeted about it. At least janjan was fully clothed when he danced. And for the information of those who were not able to see the whole episode of willing willie, the boy did not cry because he was forced to dance, he cried when he saw bonel balingit standing beside him, and who wouldn’t be, balingit is such a huge man. I bet most of the people only saw a segment of what was maliciously posted in youtube. Indeed incomplete information leads to biased conclusion.
If we are really serious in protecting our children’s rights, the rules should apply to all other tv shows. Singling out one tv show is very unfair and only confirms that there’s something fishy about this case. Using an innocent child just to get back at someone also constitutes child abuse. Ifonly janjan danced in Eat Bulaga or in any ABS CBN show, I’m sure nobody would give a damn!
To those artists, politicians and so called champions of children’s rights, instead of only blaming the parents and show organizers, they should have analyzed the root cause of why janjan and other kids like him, do what they do. As role models and legislators of this country, what did they do to prevent such acts? Or are we all being hypocrites?
@marie that’s the point.. 🙂 you got it.. ^^
wen he really showed up on tv5 na nag i.explain and trying to lift himself amongst the issue,, i felt inis that time when he outwardly named one by one those people that were involved..
but later on wen wen hes telling na magtulungan tayo, wag nating siraan ang bawat isa,,, hhmmmm i felt kinda tama nman…wala nga naman dapat siraan…. hay nku life nga nman….
