Tomorrow, January 9, it will be the Feast of the Black Nazarene. As usual, we will experience heavy traffic and thousands of devotees swarming the Quiapo church just to celebrate the event. I can’t blame them since it’s tradition already, some even die because of the unavoidable stampede or suffocation, but even so they are willing to die for God.
Now there are questions about the “No Classes” of schools near Quiapo. So here’s the answer, there are NO CLASSES on selected schools. It’s obvious that it will be hard for the students to come their way to a place swarmed with incredible number of crowds. Transportation would be terrible on that day, and so the higher ups just declared suspension of classes instead of giving headaches to our parents.
Here are the list of the reported universities that declared suspension of classes:
Adamson University
Apolinario Mabini Elementary School
Araullo High School
City College of Manila
Colegio de San Juan de Letran
Far Eastern University
Geronimo Santiago High School
Manila High School
Manila Science High School
Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila
Ramon Avanceña High School
Unibersidad de Manila
University of Santo Tomas
University of the East
Did I miss a school? Well, you can comment below if your school declared suspension, so others will know. So I guess we can rest for a day. 🙂
